When I joined the Enmax Web Team I quickly saw the need to implement user focused design and Agile methodologies. I used my new leadership position to become a UX evangelist, meeting with the executive team and presenting the benefit of balancing the needs of the business with the needs of their customers. I used UX design principles to launch payment arrangements, online bill presentment and within 6 months I hired a full-time UX designer to assist in improving the enmax.com energy contract sign-up process, live chat, mobile site, and new Customer Service Centre.

I start every project by spending time with key decision-makers to understand their expectations for the project and gather business requirements. I also do an in-depth assessment of any current design assets and their performance to establish a baseline for improvement.
Using methods ranging from online tools like UsabilityHub to guerilla research, I'll learn as much as possible about your target customer demographic so I can design a product that meets their specific needs. From there we'll build user personas and user stories based on our findings.
Next we establish a vision for the target user experience by establishing design principles. Together we'll use storyboards, diagrams and other methods to convey the essence of a person might experience the product.
Using our deep understanding of your customers, I'll build a site map and user process diagrams to guide the design of basic wireframes for every page of the site. Once we establish a framework, I'll design mockups and the interactive prototypes so you can see and feel the way users will experience your site. Lastly I'll build out detailed specifications and a style guide so that the handoff to your development team goes smooth as silk
